Westside’s Krueger Honored With State Band Director Award
Posted February 7, 2019
Mr. Tommy Krueger, Director of Bands at Westside High School, has been selected as recipient of the Nebraska State Bandmasters (NSBA) Jack R. Snider Young Band Director Award.
“This is a very prestigious award with selection being made through a statewide competitive nomination process,” said Pete Madsen, Professor of Music at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. “It is given to a band director in their third through seventh year of teaching. Recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrating an interest in the total band program (concert band, jazz band, marching band, etc), the impact they have made on students, developing and sustaining growth in the program, and showing motivation toward professional growth and involvement.”
Krueger’s students have received numerous accolades throughout the state, been invited to perform at high profile events, and have earned awards at competitions throughout Nebraska and the Midwest. He will receive his award at the NSBA State Conference in Lincoln on March 1.
Congratulations, Mr. Krueger!
