Westside High Teacher Honored With Nebraska Rookie of the Year Award

Beth Cosentino, Family & Consumer Studies teacher at Westside High School, has been named the 2019 Rookie of the Year by the Nebraska State Education Association.
Cosentino was nominated by fellow Westside High teachers Mary Jo Losen and Alice Smith. She will be honored at a special awards ceremony in Lincoln April 27.
“I am honored to be supported by Westside Community Schools and to receive this award,” said Cosentino, who was also awarded the 2018 Erin Young Award from Educators Rising. “It’s been a great year and I look forward to many more!”
“Beth builds great relationships with students while assigning them to come in for extra help to ensure success in her class,” said Trudi Nolin, Assistant Principal at Westside High School. “Great honor for her hard work!”
