WESTSIDE AND BOOKWORM PARTNER TO BRING NATIONALLY ACCLAIMED AUTHORS TO OMAHA
Posted October 2, 2019
Westside Community Schools and The Bookworm, one of Omaha’s most popular local bookstores, are excited to welcome nationally acclaimed authors Jeff Kinney (the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series) and Neal Shusterman, winner of the 2019 Golden Sower Award for Best Youth Adult Novel.
Kinney will be the guest of a special event at Westside High School on November 14th to celebrate the publication of Diary of a Wimpy Kid #14. Kinney is the latest author to visit Omaha thanks to The Bookworm, serving the metro area with new titles and book readings since 1986. Tickets to the Jeff Kinney event are available now and for sale online. CLICK HERE for ticket information.
The Bookworm was also instrumental in helping Westside Middle School secure award-winning author Neal Shusterman for a visit October 3. Shusterman, who has written more than 30 books for teens including the Unwind and Accelerati series, was honored with the 2015 National Book Award for Challenger Deep. Shusterman is also a screenwriter with work featured in current film production. “Author visits spark students’ imaginations and ignite their interest in reading,” said Deb Sondall Saetveit, Westside Middle School Librarian and 2018 American Association of School Librarians award winner. “We are thrilled to partner with The Bookworm to host these incredible authors in our district.”
