Science Leader Named November Teacher of the Month
Posted December 6, 2018
Judy Stucky, Science Teacher at Westside High School, has been named November Teacher of the Month for Westside Community Schools. Stucky will be honored by the Westside Board of Education and receive $100 from PinPoint Home Sales Group with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Ambassador Real Estate.
Stucky is a longtime teacher at Westside High School, and a regional and national leader in science education. She has organized and attended multiple conferences, including the NASA Space Ambassador program, and the National Convention for Teachers of Advanced Placement Courses. She was also recognized by local media in Fall 2016 after her volunteer work helping children in Peru (click here to learn more.) Stucky was nominated by fellow Westside High School Teacher Tyler Foster, who wrote the following:
- “Judy works tirelessly (literally) to continually redesign lessons, create engaging labs, organize her team, research new technology tools, and inform herself on best practices. In addition to her usual amazingness and Physics teaching duties, she has taken on the extra responsibilities of planning, teaching and grading STEM 1 Algebra content. Judy ordinarily deserves Teacher of the Month during any average month, but this month she’s especially deserving.”
With the help of PinPoint Home Sales Group with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Ambassador Real Estate, Westside will recognize a Teacher of the Month throughout the 2018-2019 school year! To nominate a teacher, please CLICK HERE.
