Landen Foundation provides donation to Westside TeamMates
The Landen Foundation has generously offered a financial donation to the Westside Community Schools TeamMates program.
Patty and CL Landen, III contacted Westside earlier this month about supporting Westside TeamMates. TeamMates matches students to to adult mentors; the matches meet in school once a week during the academic year. Mentors and mentees are matched based on interests and hobbies. During their meetings, matches can play games, craft, do a physical activity, or just talk. The TeamMates of Westside chapter has a vision to serve 135 youth by 2019 and create a culture of mentoring within the district.
“The money donated through The Landen Foundation could provide weekly activities to our matches as well as provide additional group activities that our matches could attend together,” said Quinn McGuire, TeamMates of Westside Program Coordinator. “In March, the secondary program will take their students to Metro Community College for a campus tour to learn more about post secondary education. This generous donation could help us continue these types of experiences and give our students a leg up when pursuing their career paths past high school graduation.”
