District Moves Forward on Superintendent Search, Boundary Engagement Process
This fall, Westside Community Schools is addressing two important issues: a Superintendent Search and a Boundary Engagement Process. Our goal is to make both of these processes as transparent as possible, gathering input and engaging our community throughout.
With that, we have two special sections on our website dedicated to each of these issues. On the front page of our main website www.westside66.org, you will see two red buttons: Superintendent Search and Boundary Engagement Process. By clicking either link, you will have full access to timelines, meeting locations and dates, opportunities to offer your feedback, documents, and more.
July 16, the Westside Board of Education voted to hire a search firm to assist in our search for the next Superintendent of Westside Community Schools. The next step is to select that search firm; that process will unfold over the next month. Click here for information on our Superintendent Search.
Also July 16, the Board updated the public on the Boundary Engagement Process. Board members and administrators have restarted discussions regarding boundaries but NO DECISIONS HAVE BEEN MADE. The District is currently working to form a Boundary Engagement Process Committee to review guiding principles, share community feedback, and study statistics and research. The District has also hired a firm with experience in boundary discussions to assist and advise, assuring the process this fall is thorough, transparent, and keeps students first. Click here for information on our Boundary Engagement Process.
All stakeholders in District 66 will soon receive a letter in the mail with this information, as well as full timelines and meeting dates for these important issues. Please note: if dates and times change, we will update all information on our website. On both sites, there is also opportunity for all to share their feedback, input that will be shared with our Board of Education and committee members. We will also be sharing updates throughout the fall on all Westside Community Schools social media platforms, in our District newsletters, on our District calendar, and with our media partners.
Thank you for your support of Westside Community Schools!
