9 Westside Students Earn National Merit Honors

Westside High School is proud to share that nine exceptional students have been honored with National Merit Awards.
Over 1.5 million high school juniors entered the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. A nationwide pool of Semi-Finalists represents less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors. Westside High School has six of them. From the approximately 16,000 Semi-Finalists, an estimated 15,000 are expected to advance to the finalist level.

Westside High School also has three National Merit Commended Students. 34,000 students are honored as Commended Students nationwide from the initial pool of 1.5 million applicants.
