District Remembers Longtime Educator Ron Huston
Posted September 6, 2018 Westside Community Schools staff, alumni and community members remember longtime educator and athletic director Ron Huston. Huston, who was with Westside from 1965-1992, died August 26. Huston joined Westside as a social studies teacher and baseball coach in 1965. In 1976, Huston was named Westside Athletic Director, a position he held until his retirement in 1992. Starting July 9, Westside will offer summer school programming in half-day sessions, designed to serve students (by invitation only) who completed Kindergarten through 5th grade and need additional support in academics. Westside Community Schools celebrated a successful school year with the district’s annual End of Year Celebration, hosted by Dr. Enid Schonewise and Westside’s Human Resources team. This annual event recognizes some of Westside’s top educators, provides give-a-ways and raffles for all employees, and honors staff members through both the Westside Education Association and the Westside Foundation.

The official results of the 2018 Primary Election are posted on the Douglas County Election Commission website here.
