District Remembers Longtime Educator Ron Huston

Huston, who was with Westside from 1965-1992, died August 26. Huston joined Westside as a social studies teacher and baseball coach in 1965. Starting July 9, Westside will offer summer school programming in half-day sessions, designed to serve students (by invitation only) who completed Kindergarten through 5th grade and need additional support in academics. Construction crews have begun external demolition of the historic Sunset Hills Elementary School. Westside celebrates teachers, staff members at end of year celebration
Westside Community Schools celebrated a successful school year with the district’s annual End of Year Celebration, hosted by Dr. Enid Schonewise and Westside’s Human Resources team. This annual event recognizes some of Westside’s top educators, provides give-a-ways and raffles for all employees, and honors staff members through both the Westside Education Association and the Westside Foundation.
