Westside’s Lance Named 4th In the Nation for ‘Best Newspaper’

Student journalists at Westside High School were recently named among the best in the country at multiple competitions, including at the national level and at the UNO Journalism conference.

In Seattle, Washington last month, the WHS student publication The Lance was named 4th in the country for Best Newspaper.

The following students were also recognized at the UNO Journalism conference:

First Place – Best Long-Form Audio – Hannah Heim

Second Place – Best Long-form Audio – Hannah Heim

First Place – Best Short-form audio – Hannah Heim

Second Place – Best Long -Form Audio – Richie Porras

Second Place – Best Video Sports Story – Nick Henrichs

First Place – Best Video Feature Story – Mitch Francis

Third Place – Best Video Feature Story – Mitch Francis

Third Place (tie) – Best Video Feature Story – Aliyah White
