Westside students eligible for Red Cross ‘Heroes’ Contest
The American Red Cross is hosting a student essay contest for students grades 5 through 8, a competition open to Westside students in those grade levels.
“Our organization is committed to recognizing special citizens who, because of their brave acts of heroism or unselfish devotion to the welfare of others, have been selected as community heroes,” said Region Events Specialist Briana Laymon, via press release. “We invite students to write about people they consider heroes in their own lives.”
Seven students will be surprised with an award at their school and a cupcake party for each student’s class.
To enter, email your child’s essay to firstname.lastname@example.org using the attached cover page. The contest deadline is Tuesday, December 20. Winners will be announced in February.
