Westside Community Schools

Westside Student Artists Awarded National Gold Keys

Two Westside High School students have been awarded Gold Keys from National Scholastic Art & Writing, the hop honors students can receive at the regional level.

Brennan Zatechka’s painting is entitled ‘Street Scene’. Brennan is a junior at Westside High School, where her art is prominently featured.

Grace Johanningsmeier’s painting is entitled ‘Escape’. Grace is a senior at Westside High School, where she is also a National Merit Semi-Finalist.

Brennan and Grace created two of the only 2,700 pieces chosen from 350,000 submissions nationwide spanning 29 categories. They will be recognized at an awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and their work will now be part of the national level competition.
