Westside Educators Awarded Scholarships
Human Resources with Westside Community Schools, with the generosity of multiple donors, has presented several educators with scholarships to continue the pursuit of professional degrees and development.
The Westside Foundation annually awards $500 scholarships to certified and classified staff members who are furthering their education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Dr. Enid Schonewise, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, recently awarded scholarships for 2017-18 to Tyler Foster (Westside High School), Diana Williams (Westbrook Elementary), Aaron Boyle (WHS West Campus), and Michelle Marino (Paddock Road Elementary).
The Westside Human Resources team also presents an annual scholarship to honor Robert Adams, longtime District 66 teacher and administrator. Adams, Associate Superintendent for Personnel for 15 years, felt strongly in building the leadership capacity of staff and encouraged a pursuit of lifelong learning. His family has continued to support an annual $500 scholarship for a deserving certified staff member for continuing education.
For 2017-18, the $500 Robert Adams Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Kira Mclean from Paddock Road Elementary.
Congratulations to all of this year’s scholarship recipients, and thank you to all of our generous donors for making these awards possible!
