Westside Educator Named Executive Director of Nebraska Association for the Gifted
Kristen Job, Westside’s Secondary Excellence In Youth Coordinator, has been named Executive Director of the Nebraska Association for the Gifted.
Job, who has been with Westside Community Schools for 14 years, has also served on the NAG Board for 6 years. Her programs and students have won multiple awards and honors; most recently, her students at Westside Middle and High Schools finished among the top contenders at both State History Bee and State Geography Bee finals. More than a dozen of these students will compete at nationals under Job’s leadership and were recently honored by the Westside Board of Education.
The Nebraska Association for the Gifted, founded in 1956, has continually strived to increase awareness of parents, teachers, teacher-trainers, and the general public to provide appropriate developmental experiences for students of high ability. Job will lead the organization’s efforts to work with the Nebraska Department of Education, and the state legislature to continue to provide for programs for gifted learners.
