Rockbrook Educator Named April Teacher of the Month
Jan Kyle, 2nd Grade Teacher at Rockbrook Elementary, has been named April Teacher of the Month for Westside Community Schools. Kyle is awarded $100, thanks to Angel Starks with Nebraska Realty.
Kyle received multiple nominations for this honor. One of her colleagues at Rockbrook offered the following: “Mrs. Kyle cares about the hope and well-being of each of her students. She saw a need for her students to start each day with a meaningful Morning Meeting, because it allows her students to share their thoughts and feel included in their classroom. As the school counselor at Rockbrook, I often participate in their daily Morning Meetings, and I enjoy watching the students positively interact with each other and eagerly pay attention to their fabulous teacher, Mrs. Kyle. Mrs. Kyle also has a few former students who do their “Check In, Check Out” with her each day, because they are so motivated to visit with her and value the relationship she’s built with them. Mrs. Kyle is a true example of “building relationships” with students, and she does an amazing job of living the PBIS goal of promoting positive behavior at Rockbrook. She is a loving and caring teacher who truly loves and cares about all of her current and former students. We are so lucky to have her at Rockbrook!”
