Warrior Walkabout helps students transition to next level

Westside Middle School has successfully debuted a new program for the 2017-2018, Warrior Walkabout, helping 7th grade students best prepare for a new year at a new school. Organized by Dean of Students Quinn McGuire, Warrior Walkabout was funded through a grant from the Westside Foundation. Westside voters to be asked to approve levy override

This September, Westside voters will be asked to approve a measure allowing District 66 to raise its levy ceiling. The Board of Education’s decision to ask for a levy increase was given great consideration and based on several factors, including consistent decline in state aid and uncertainty regarding future levels of state funding. City plans to remove traffic light at 108th & Oak

The City of Omaha plans to remove a traffic light at 108th and Oak, an area affecting families who use Oakdale Elementary, Rockbrook Elementary, West Campus and the CAPS program. A sign with notice of the light removal has been posted at the intersection. The city will take public comment for 90 days; for the first 45 the crosswalk light will flash yellow and then it will be bagged for the remaining 45 days. The…

Children need healthy meals to learn. Westside Community Schools offers healthy meals every school day. Please note the following for pricing. BREAKFAST Elementary: $1.40 Middle School: $1.65 High School: $1.80 LUNCH Elementary: $2.30 Middle School: $2.65 High School: $2.90-$3.40 Your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals. Reduced price is $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch. Update Your Child’s Information

The Annual Information Update is underway! Instead of filling out dozens of paper forms, parents/guardians of all Westside Community Schools students now complete that process online. This annual ritual allows families to review and update parent contact information, verify emergency contacts and phone numbers, complete field trip permission forms, and share with the school current health and medication info about each child. Swanson Designs Unveiled

Thursday, architects presented artist renderings for their vision of the new Swanson Elementary School. Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture, Project Advocates, and Westside Community Schools hosted a Community Information Session to update families and neighbors on the vision for their new school.
